St Peter's Brafferton Church of England VA Primary School

Aspiring, believing and achieving together

St Peter’s Brafferton Church of England (VA) Primary School is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all children in school. All North Yorkshire schools, including St Peter’s, follow the North Yorkshire Safeguarding Children Board procedures. The school will, in most circumstances, endeavour to discuss all concerns with parents about their child/ren. However, there may be exceptional circumstances when the school will discuss concerns with Social Care and/or the Police without parental knowledge (in accordance with Child Protection procedures). The school will, of course, always aim to maintain a positive relationship with all parents. The school’s child protection policy is available publicly.

Keeping children safe online

During the school closure and lock down, and an inevitable increased use of online platforms for learning and communication, keeping children safe online is more important then ever. There may be a higher risk than usual of children being vulnerable to online abuse and bullying. We would advise parents to continue to monitor children's use of online platforms of all types as the consequences of actions taken online can be extremely damaging for all parties involved.
